For :iconmistywisp: - this was the closest to a fractal I could get you, Mandy. Believe me, I was staring at Apophysis enough, but it just stares right back at me with disdain! So I made something with drawing ink and pen instead.

It was inspired by the wonderful Stellaria solaris. [link]

Oh, wow Betti, you paint too!

This is beautiful.
Before I went to the Stellaria solaris link I thought to myself how much it reminded me of the inside of a shell. :highfive:

Love the black pattern, especially on the blue. :D

That's about as far as my patience goes! I wish I'd have more patience to do more sophisticated pieces.
I drew (or more scribble) a lot of shells lately; I also made simple glass pieces with shell patterns. I love shells.

The blue looks very different from the real colour. :O_o: It looks much brighter on the screen.

As always, I really appreciate and value your comment.

My pleasure Betti.
And I saw the use of your flowers in that ladies fractal. Beautiful. What a buzz seeing your work used by someone else. Well done!

Shells are fascinating and I really like your abstract interpretation of the patterns. And yes, very fractal.
Have you ever seen these [link]
I would like to be able to draw something like this, I wish. I find these inspirational too.

The shells are becoming rarer. There always used to be shells on the beach. Don't see them very often now.

It is a pretty blue. :D

I saw Haeckel's illustrations earlier, but I never remembered to search for these on the net. Thank you very much for the link - such good quality images! I think I'll spend a lot of time staring at these and I found stellaria solaris, too! [link]
People with those skills always astonish me. How great it must be to be a fan of nature (pardon my using of more common language :D) and be able to express that love this way. Simply fantastic. And inspirational, indeed. Escher makes me feel this way - his skill is almost mind blowing. So many details and not a sigle one redundant.

I think people like to carry the shells home. I'm guilty of that, too; but I bought the majority of what I have. But I hope they won't disappear.

Mandy has so many awesome fractals!

I'm very, very grateful, Betti! Thank you so much for making this for me - it's lovely - even the frame is perfect! I think you should make some shell brushes now... what do you think? :D Thanks again - I really appreciate your kindness!

I'm happy that you like it, Mandy. :-) It's a small payback for all the wonderful fractals you share with us.

Yeah, I was thinking about making shell brushes. It was only a vague idea, now you put the bug in my ear! :D

Oh, those images of Haeckel's. What an amazing man too, I should learn more about him. How would you like to own that book with the illustrations, wouldn't it be wonderful!
Escher! All time fave. Astonishing perspectives. I always wondered if he was on some sort of hallucinogenic drug! lol I have two jigsaw puzzles of his work. Both completed and framed. Only in moments of insanity do I want to take them out of the frame and do them again! All shades of grey! Only for the crazy. :D

Nature surely is the most inspirational thing, I'm a big fan of it. You are motivating me to get out there with my Macro lens and go exploring the minute detail of nature. :D I seem to spend more and more time on the internet these days. But no complaints. :)
The shells on the beach don't have any life left in them, so I figure its ok to collect them. Its impossible not too! What I wonder about is why there there less and less being washed up on the beach. I guess their environment is affected too by pollution or whatever.

Hope you post some more shell paintings or drawings.

Now imagine if Escher wasn't actually on drugs, what if he would've been! :O_o: I've had an escheresque drawing in mind for so long, but I can't seem to start with it even though it would be pretty simple. But I wouldn't start with jigsaw puzzles for sure. :wow:
I used to be much more out in nature earlier, too, and same here: internet keeps me away mostly. Nature is inspiration for life, it's that simple for me. So go out and make some photos! :D Just take care not to break yourself. I hope your back is better.

I really started to plan to make a shell brush set (of drawings maybe, I mean my own). But I have to beat myself to finish the other two brush sets I have going on first. I'm so freakin' lazy. :angered:
